The Margaret Home is a residential program in Rochester, NY, that empowers pregnant and parenting mothers by supporting their physical, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs so they heal, grow, and thrive. Their mission focuses on healing, growth, empowerment, and aiming to build stronger families.
With Marketing Strategist Sean Pritzkau, Paula Belemjian, Executive Director of The Margaret Home, tasked us in December 2024 to build their 2024 Annual Report through storytelling and data-driven results. The report’s purpose will reflect on the past year’s milestones while connecting with present and future stakeholders, highlighting foundational growth, expanded outreach, and deepened community impact.
The Margaret Home has proven to be an influential organization within the Rochester community, providing women with a safe and welcoming environment.
the challenge
Through this report, our goal is to strengthen The Margaret Home’s infrastructure to serve more women and children effectively. By expanding its network of supporters, partners, and stakeholders, The Margaret Home’s resources will not only maintain, but thrive in its personal and transformative nature of their services.
the strategy
With Sean’s discovery report and project brief, we used this opportunity to build two mood boards to elevate The Margaret Home’s brand.
Both mood boards were created with intent. Mood board one elevated its current brand, expanding its color palette and refining illustrations. Soft pastel tones dominate, creating a gentle and welcoming feel. Elegant serif fonts paired with an approachable sans-serif for balance. “She is clothed with strength and dignity” stands prominently, reflecting empowerment and grace. This mood board leans into a warm, inviting aesthetic, emphasizing nurturing and sophistication.
Mood board two uses a more modern, colorful approach to emphasize hope, strength, and dignity. Subtle gradient backgrounds convey warm radiance. A mix of serif and sans-serif fonts creates a fresh, airy feel to the copy. This mood board is uplifting and optimistic, aligning with themes of transformation and progress.
Each mood board reflects a distinct tone to support The Margaret Home’s goals while aligning with their brand traits of sophistication, collaboration, and a lasting impact on the community.
