Savor and Sip in the Pines
What’s a more beautiful pairing than a sip of Finger Lakes fare and nature?
Uncorked and On Tap has been an annual event for the Rochester Museum and Science Center, but a first underneath the pines. The Cumming Nature Center in Naples, NY has offered a gorgeous environment for education and fun of all groups and ages for the last 50 years. Born Collective was tasked to combine the spirit of sipping and the beauty of the pines.
Eager to jump in, I used this opportunity to exercise the illustration side of design to combine a timeless old fashioned with RMSC and Cumming Nature Center branding.
Every detail of this old fashioned is thoughtfully crafted. The cocktail itself is tinted with RMSC’s signature orange. The ice cube, inspired by the museum’s logo, has layers of RMSC cyan. The drinking glass reflects with varying tints of RMSC light gray. The last, but not the least, element of the old fashioned is its pine tree stirrer that perfectly garnishes the cocktail, paying homage to the nature center.
